To become a top achiever and make an impact in life and become extraordinary calls for total commitment and judicious use of time and the ability to seize opportunities when they appear.
You must rise above the trappings of the excuse of no chance. This means you should watch with a different kind of alertness the trap of getting into the eternal loop of procrastination.
To be successful you must be courageous, confident, bold and arm yourself with grit and the full armour of definiteness of purpose.
Hence, to become a top performer you must seek to rise above the body’s inertia. As all students of science know the inertia of a body is the tendency of a body to stay in its state of inaction. When you become comfortable in this state of inaction making excuses become your second nature.
Show me a failure and a mediocre and I will show you a man of many excuses and a chronic pessimist. A man who always have ample time in his hands and yet complains of no chance.
I don’t have the chance today may be tomorrow says one of my lazy friends when presented with an opportunity.
On a close scrutiny, I found out he spends his time on idle chatter with other like-minded friends, after all birds of a feather they say flock together.
I am awe of the lives of those who brought changes to the world. Think of Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Mahatma Gandhi and Elon Musk.
What would have the World been like if they had fallen into the loop of no chance, maybe we would still be riding on a horse and buggy, and still be lighting our homes with kerosene lamps.
Freedom and liberation would have been a pipe dream for many in India and the United States. And Electric cars which is environmentally friendly as well as space travel by an individual company would have taken light years to achieve.
These individuals defy their body’s inertia, societal norms and the gatekeepers to make the world a better place.
Again, the second part of the definition of the inertia of a body states that every object would stay in its state of inaction UNLESS acted upon by a force. Now this force could be anything that help you to be immune to the state of inaction.
Steps to become a top achiever
1) DEFINITENESS OF PURPOSE: There’s one quality which one must possess to become a top achievers, and that is definiteness of purpose, the knowledge of what one wants and a burning desire to possess it. When you know what your purpose is you will be in a hurry to fulfill it. You will work yourself into a white heat, such that your purpose becomes a burning desire and an obsession.

2) DEVELOPING THE RIGHT ATTITUDE: Sometimes the underlying cause of making excuses is an unknown fear. Therefore, the right altitude will help you keep things in the right perspective to correctly handle every situation squarely. 4) THE POWER OF PREPARATION: There’s a cliché that says those who fail to plan, plan to fail. Abe Lincoln once said give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four hours sharpening the axe. When you over prepare for a task you will rise above the excuse of ‘no chance’ and become a top achiever in life.
